The odd thing about summer is that hardly ever does your floor, let alone your shoe mat get wet from dragged in snow.... so when i noticed that my shoe mat was drenched and the shoes sitting in what i suspected to be a puddle of water, i knelt down.. took a 'wiff' and slapped the cat.
My Usual Self-Questionnaire.
What's playing? My mind.
What was the last thing my TV did? Nothing yet.
How am I feeling? Why? Could be better. It could be warm and sunny out. I could be on holidays. The lake could be warm. The floating docks could be set up. I could be on vacation. Swimming. Drinking iced tea. Reading a book on the sand. Under an umbrella.
Complete this: "The Weather Is..." Cold, cloudy and there's a lot of work involved.

I've been playing Sly 2, Band of Thieves the past couple nights and this is a good way to wind down, after running around rooftops with a wily coon. I made it to episode 2 with a 100% on episode 1. Not bad for someone who just started. I wonder if there's a hard mode? I'll have to check. Later.

I love watching the special features on any DVD. Additional content to the movie is a natural extension that goes along with having a menu. I suppose it could be rooted deep in the days of theatre, where an opening show warmed up the audience then onto video with Beta and the "special presentations" after the movies. One of the things I like to do with DVD's before watching them these days is watching the movie's trailers. Doing that prepares me for the movie, because I'm not that interested in watching TV. It would be a miracle if I had heard of it beforehand and I have beem limiting myself to the types and genres of movies that I like to watch.
If I like what I read on the back of a DVD cover, I've seen a commercial by accident or I'm impressed by an certain actor's body of work, I'll rent or buy it. Otherwise I like action movies, stories with anti-heroes, comedies or movies with a collection of characters of which one or two I feel I can relate to.
"Special presentations" as they were called on video have come a long way into these DVD days. There's actor, writer or director interviews, alternate languages, subtitles, behind-the-scenes and making-of documentaries, music videos, trailers, actor and director biographies, uncut versions, feature-length commentaries, production notes, storyboard comparisons, concept art, PC and web content, DVD-Audio content, gag reels, deleted scenes, alternate scenes, alternate beginnings, alternate endings, actor auditions, screen tests, mini-movies, enhanced sound options, widescreen or regular ratio, scene selections, games and photo galleries. After all that, all I have to add is: What's your favourite DVD feature?
(My answer is in comments.)

(From Earth Day Network)
Earth Day, which began in 1970, is now celebrated by millions of people worldwide. This year is its 35th anniversary, and around the world, hundreds of thousands of nongovernmental organizations, governments, teachers, and faith-based groups, among others, are making plans to declare that they are part of something extraordinary: a worldwide movement to protect our planet, our children, and our future.

Yeah well... let's get to the TWISTED part of my post. Here's some of my own commentary:
In area lakes in southern, in the spring, there used to be a phenomena that occurs at sunrise. Viewable only from the right spot when the sun was at the right angle and the temperature created a mist over the lake, your view of the treeline would blur. This haze effect is no longer possible because of pollution. That's one thing our forefathers had seen, saw it for its specialness, but we will never see.
Something else they saw, was the far side of Lake Ontario from the top of the CN Tower. Not anymore, you can thank smog for that one too. So I advise everyone to take the one tonne challenge, ride your bike, walk to school, skate to the store, whatever saves our ecosystem.
Here's to earth day, Cheers!
Remember, it's more than just cleaning up random garbage in your neighborhood. Go plant a tree or commit yourself to not use your vehicle so much! We've only got one planet, so let's take care of it. Or hurry up and terraform Mars.

Lyrics to Deep Purple's classic:
We all came out to montreux
On the lake geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile
We didn’t have much time
Frank zappa and the mothers
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
They burned down the gambling house
It died with an awful sound
Funky claude was running in and out
Pulling kids out the ground
When it all was over
We had to find another place
But swiss time was running out
It seemed that we would lose the race
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
We ended up at the grand hotel
It was empty cold and bare
But with the rolling truck stones thing just outside
Making our music there
With a few red lights and a few old beds
We make a place to sweat
No matter what we get out of this
I know we’ll never forget
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
I went for a ride on my bike after work. I went to Frog Rapids Bridge and back, taking shortcuts to see how they compare to my old routes, but I have to say the two most interesting things were 1 - it took me 45 minutes total, 7 minutes slower than last year's better times and 5 minutes slower than my average times. And; 2 - The lake ice hasn't completely broken up so there was fog over the lake. I immediately thought of Deep Purple [Link] and their song. (Lyrics above.) It looked pretty cool, but I was riding so I just kept peddling away. Although I wished I had my camera, I really should take that thing with me when I go out, I see such cool things but I'm not sure I have the skill to photograph what I see. - TWISTED QUIZ: What obsolete skill are you? [Link] You are 'Gregg shorthand'. Originally designed to enable people to write faster, it is also very useful for writing things which one does not want other people to read, inasmuch as almost no one knows shorthand any more. You know how important it is to do things efficiently and on time. You also value your privacy, and (unlike some people) you do not pretend to be friends with just everyone; that would be ridiculous. When you do make friends, you take them seriously, and faithfully keep what they confide in you to yourself. Unfortunately, the work which you do (which is very important, of course) sometimes keeps you away from social activities, and you are often lonely. Your problem is that Gregg shorthand has been obsolete for a long time. Yeah, to quote the Silverchair song Across The Night: "I don't wanna be lonely, I just wanna be alone."

I also went for a nice bike ride yesterday and while I was at Frog Rapids bridge I stopped for a bit to watch ice break off and float by. It was surreal in that lighting because the dark water and reflecting sun off the ice made it look like the ice itself was made of light. I wish I had my camera at the time.

Linkfest Today's post may get me kicked off of K-Net. I hope not - Spook.- Virtual Bartender 2 [Link] This time there's two of them. I know it's taken me a few days to post them, but I've also got some commands you can try below.
- Sith Apprentice [Link] "You're fired" takes on a whole new meaning when reality TV hits the Empire. Watch as the "The Emperor" puts his Sith Lords through various tasks to determine his next Apprentice.
- Big Eye Paintings [Link] A twisted gallery. Those eyes.... so.. grotesque.

- Anomolies Unlimited [Link] Here's one of those websites that you have to visit just to comprehend. It lacks description, just like back in 1998 with The Matrix, before the movie came out.
- TWISTED NEWS: Red ink falling out of favor with teachers [Link] Parents objected to this stress-inducing colour on their children's papers.
- Delocator [Link] "Cafés are vital social outposts that have historically provided subjective, social, local, and at times, irrational interaction, inspiration, and nourishment to artists, hipsters, musicians, activists, intellectuals, radicals, and others alike. Currently, independently owned cafés around the world are under aggressive attack; and their numbers have been sharply decreasing for many years. delocator.net is a means to preserve these local businesses." Personally, I've lost a few good places to hang out to an out-of-the-box Starbucks.
Other Virtual Bartender 2 commands (codes):
- banana (= give me head)
- bend over
- strip
- kiss (= make out)
- can i have your number?
- fight

- kiss security guy
- beer
- orgasm

(I steal these, not experience them. But, I may have some empathy for them)When I watch TV, my eyes glaze over and my tongue sticks out, and all of the muscles in by body become limp and lifeless. It takes an incredible amount of energy to break me out of this state. Once, I completely missed a five-point-something earthquake because I was watching TV. I'm pretty sure it's because I grew up without TV - I was not trained to cope with the excessive stimulus from a young age like most of my peers.

I got 98.5% on that test. when I got back the test, it was just a smudge of pink and black ink. I tell you, that mark was the LAST thing I expected. Damn guilt.
I've never understood why women love cats. Cats are independent; they don't listen; they don't come in when you call; they like to stay out all night, come home and expect to be fed and stroked. Then want to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat.
Oh yeah, shouts out to fans of my homepage who I met at the bars earlier this week. You know who you are. And just for a reminder, here's the post you and your friends mentioned: The Guys' Rules [Link]
