| An Ojibway/Cree/Scot hybrid monster blogging on his K-Net webpage from Front Street of Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. Bwah-hahahahahahaha!!! I find all sorts of weird stuff in my obsessive surfing sessions. When I get started, I find it hard to stop and sometimes I just have to share my finds. I *TRY* to post something other than links most of the time, so bear with me. |

Blog stickers are little images that say something about the blog. It could be the motto of the blog or another motto of the blog it's hosted on. In any case, it's an amusing phrase about the blog that the blog owners decide to host on their blog. If you need an better explanation, go here to Blogstickers.Com [Link] and see for yourself. Otherwise, read some of the ones I and my friend came up with:
Also, don't forget to leave your own ideas for blogstickers of your own in my comments, on my tag board or on the blogstickers website [POST EDIT: Just some spell checking and reformatting, I noticed errors and it didn't meet any kind of aesthetic appeal. Not only that, but it made all that hard work I did look like two very ugly blocks of text, as if they were merely logs of wood propping up my blog. BLEAH!]

1.Last night I had the munchies, but accidentally dropped the cookie I was about to eat between the computer desk and the wall where I couldn't reach. I tried moving the desk, but ended up constructing a tool made out of the pvc piping my laundry bag holder is made out of, and a coat hanger. In retrospect all I can think of is watching Animal Planet when they show how Chimps catch termites 2. The dog was really good at catching stuff in mid-air when you chucked it near her. Trouble was she'd do the same thing when I flicked a still-burning smokey treat out into the back yard then round around in circles coughing smoke and shaking her head. I guess I just pretended to forget that... 3. the venerated grey beard told me this once and i took it to heart quote if you never broke nothin you never did nothin end quote several trips to the ER later he informs me quote i didnt mean body parts end quote now he tells me Go back Close your eyes....And go back.... Before the Internet or the MAC Before semi-automatics and crack Before SEGA or Super Nintendo...Way back....... I'm talkin' bout hide and go seek at dusk. Red light,Green light. Playing kickball & dodgeball until the street lights came on. Mother May I? Red Rover. Hula Hoops. Running through the sprinkler. Happy Meals. Watchin' Saturday Morning cartoons. Fat Albert, Road Runner, Smurfs, Picture Pages, G-Force The kids from the show Saved By The Bell were your idols, and all the girls were in love with Zack Wonder Woman & Super Man Underoos. Playing Dukes of Hazard. Catchin' lightning bugs in a jar. Christmas morning....... you were so happy and now your not that happy lil kid any more Your first day of school. Bedtime Prayers and Goodnight Kisses. Climbing trees. Getting an Ice Cream off the Ice Cream Truck. A million mosquito bites and sticky fingers. Jumpin down the steps. Being tired from playin'.... Your first crush...... Rainy days at school meant playing "Heads up 7Up" in the class room. Remember that? I'm not finished yet.... Kool-aid was the drink of summer. Riding your friends on your handle bars. Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school. Class Field Trips. When nearly everyone's mom was at home when the kids got there. When a quarter seemed like a fair allowance and another quarter a miracle. When any parent could discipline any kid, or feed him or use him to carry groceries, and nobody, not even the kid, thought a thing of it. When your parents took you to McDonalds and you were so cool!. When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited a misbehaving student at home. Basically, we were in fear for our lives, but it wasn't because of drive by shootings, drugs, gangs, etc. Our parents and grandparents were a much bigger threat! And some of us are still afraid of em!!! Didn't that feel good, just to go back and say, Yeah, I remember that! There's nothing like the good old days! They were good then, and they're good now when we think about them. Share some of these thoughts with a friend who can relate, then share it with someone that missed out on them. I want to go back to the time when............ Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-mo", mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!" "Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest. Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in Monopoly. Catching the fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening. Being old, referred to anyone over 20. The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties. Nobody was prettier than Mom. Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better. It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park. Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true. Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare". Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles. The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team. Water balloons were the ultimate weapon. Older siblings were the worst tormentors, but also the fiercest protectors. If you can rem ember most or all of these, then you have LIVED!!!! Pass this on to anyone who may need a break from their "grown up" life... I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU!!!!!!! [POST EDIT BY DAVE: Here's her homepage [Link]]

I broke another person's stereotypical bias recently, it was hilarious. When I get to work and go to get my first mug of coffee, I usually run into the same few people at the pot. We all have a little chat and I usually announce my version of that day's weather forecast, despite the local radio station giving theirs in the background. Sometimes the radio forecast agrees with me and sometimes it differs, but more often than not I'm more accurate. I also describe how the wind will feel, how wet the falling snow will be and how long rain will last, along with when precipitation will start. Obviously, I usually have it accurate too, within 15 minutes to a half hour. It's led them to trusting my version of the weather forecast than our local meteorologist. Anyway... After we all got our coffee, this one girl asked me another question, "Dave, you're always more accurate than the radio forecast. Do you meditate, do a sweetgrass smudge, sweat lodge or what gives you that extra (she paused for a second looking for the right word) sense about the weather?" I smiled at her, having realised she's looking for an Ojibway or Cree mystical secret, but I told her the plain truth: "I look it up on-line, then guess from there." Ha. That story reminds me of a similar story once told by a friend, Jody Porter, in a newspaper editorial of Wawatay [Link] She was driving down the highway on a Monday with my uncle Bill (he's an announcer on radio there) and they happened to pass a dead moose by the side of the road. "Hmm, that moose has been there since Friday night," Bill said candidly. She was just blown away and the speculations were running rampant in her head. She wondered what kinds of skills and experiences he had with moose to go barrelling by at 90 kph, get a mere glimpse and confidently determine how long that moose has been there. Fully expecting a lesson in moose and a few hunting stories Judy asked Bill "How do you know how long that moose has been there?" He turned to look at her and plainly responded "oh, when I drove by on Friday it wasn't there and when my son Neebin went for a ride on Saturday he mentioned it was on this turn." Heh-heh... and she admitted she felt foolish because of that in her final editorial for Wawatay before moving away. I miss talking with that woman. I wish I could tell stories like that "Thomas Builds-the-Fire" guy with glasses in Smoke Signals. [Link] [Link] [Link] [Link] [Link] What? you deserve links from me... And besides that, I wanna try something new. I call it "Link Overkill, putting the L and O in the Down LO" Yeah.. that's cheesy, I just made it up as I was typing.

My Usual Self-Questionnaire. What's playing? Avril Lavigne - Complicated, The local radio station played, like, five of her songs in the past half hour... I think it's the "Annoy Dave Show" ?? What was the last TV show or movie you watched? Comedy at Club 54 What was the last thing you threw away? There's supposed to be a little cartoon dragon sitting there... But that site is overloaded and I get a low-bandwidth page saying "temporarily unavailable" instead. Draggys suck. I'm gonna save mine and host it myself. Hmm... what else? Also be sure to check out ALL the Blogstickers pages.
What's playing? Star Trek: The Next Generation What was the last TV show or movie you watched? I'm still watching it, but Trucks! is coming on soon. What was the last thing you complained about? I hate Mondays. Who was the last person you complimented and what did you say? A coworker: Thanks, you're the greatest. What was the last thing you threw away? I've done this post a few times before this, trying to find the right words and picking what to post. Obviously I didn't post anything at all. Bleah! How am I feeling? Why? Picky. No reason. Website Reco? Dealing with Collection Agencies [Link] You'll learn to hate the name Mark Silverthorn/Silverstone and how to deal with a possible grievous situation. My previous post stayed in my mind and I realised that I would like some help in posting to Twisted. I know I have a tagboard that lets people post links, ask questions and leave comments, but that's a little too campy. So that also led me to thinking about letting some people actually create entire posts and other things, so I came up with some guidelines for posting here. Should anyone be interested. Requirements: As my blog is hosted on the www.myknet.org server, a homepage service that suggests all pages on here he safe for youth to view. I know that is sort of unclear and leaves lots to the imagination, but that's okay. That's what you'll need as a contributor to Twisted. The sort of things I want you to post are diversions. They can be funny, cool, interesting, gross or so-stupid-its-good. The diversions I want here are things that can be picked up without any forethought or too many instructions, provide a mild distraction from whatever viewers may have been doing and possibly make them want to come back again. Memes are encouraged. Essays and articles are welcome. But no stealing. Even though I do it. Of course, try to keep it reasonably profanity-free and very porn-free. Hints of softcore is okay, a little cyber-innuendo, but no vulgar references or hardcore images. Glamour shots of babes is okay too, but no nudity. Where was I? Oh yeah! If you have to swear, F*****G censor yourself, okay? And one last thing, I use Blogger to post here, you'll need an account too. My Usual Self-Questionnaire. What's playing? Nothing, I'm at the library. How am I feeling? Why? Rushed, I'm on my break! [POST EDIT] News? I added Tell-A-Friend to my sidebar along with my ranking on Four-Eyed Freak (#65) and a slogan for my counter. 300 already huh? That leaves me wondering how many people actually visit this page. It's not 300, I can tell you that.

Browsing around numerous blog directories and the like.... I happened to notice that there were a distinct lack of community blogs.... I regularly visit superior blogs and I also notice that they're all edited/added to by more than one person. I also wondered should I recruit additional people to post to twisted? I don't know. What do you think? Leave a comment.
I've been making small and subtle changes to my sidebar (Look at the side!) I changed heights, formatting, phrasing and added a new subheading (Native) with plans for another one later on (Canadian content) I doubt you'd notice it very much, but it is getting quite long. I figure as long as I'm squeezing more and more into my blog do you have any suggestions? Leave a comment... My Usual Self-Questionnaire. What's playing? Evanescence - Where Will You Go? What was the last TV show or movie you watched? Trucks! What was the last thing you threw away? Inedible scraps from my breakfast plate. How am I feeling? Why? I'm slowly getting cabin fever. Either I gotta play an "outdoorsy" Playstation2 game or actually go outside into the cold... We'll see. Website Reco? Blogs Canada [Link] Blogs Canada's Directory contains more than 7,700 Canadian blog listings. Here, you'll find one of the web's most comprehensive blog directories - organized by.... Just go there already! This will probably be the first link I put on my CanCon list later on. | About Blog | About Dave/Dave's Homepage | Hate Mail | |
